Dr Anthony Thomas Alam

After graduating from Sydney University I spent five years in a teaching hospital environment at Westmead Hospital where I did terms in paediatrics (3 years), general medicine, emergency care and surgery.

I have a passion for surgery and have regularly assisted in elective operations in general surgery and orthopedics since starting my journey in General Practice at The Appletree Medical Centre in 1987. I believe this helps me deliver high quality up-to-date care for my patients in general practice.

My other passions are my wife, my family, their families and golf!

Dr Julia Wakeling

I graduated Melbourne University Medicine 1996. In my final year I undertook medical student placements in India, Ireland & the UK.

I went on to specialise in General Practice with Fellowship of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners including Palliative Care placement and also Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, affording me extra skills in women’s health and shared antenatal care.

I have worked at various practices in Victoria and moved to Sydney in 2006. I joined Appletree Medical Centre in 2009. I have great experience in the full spectrum of General Practice Medicine and appreciate the very rewarding challenge of maintaining, upgrading and applying the broad skill set required.

Dr Ivan Seeto

I grew up in a small town in Papua New Guinea and came to Australia for boarding school in 1970. Having graduated from UNSW in 1981,I spent three years of general medical and surgical terms in hospitals. Next came two years of paediatrics.

I started at Appletree Medical Centre in June 1985 and have been there ever since. I will leave feet first. Due to my general training, I am confident to look after all patients, especially paediatrics. I have a huge variety of interests outside of my wife and two children whom I love dearly.

Dr Monica Tan

I studied in the Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School and was awarded my medical degree by the University of London. During the latter years of the course, I met an Australian doctor who convinced me to join him Down Under for the better weather. I first worked at a busy Accident and Emergency Department in southwest England. Then I spent a year in Singapore gaining General Practice experience. On arriving in Australia, I worked hospital terms in The Canberra Hospital, Westmead Hospital and the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children at Camperdown. I entered formal General Practice training shortly after and I am a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).

I have worked in a number of metropolitan and suburban medical practices in Sydney. Outside of work, I have raised two daughters and still struggle with a needy cavoodle. So with medical knowledge gained over three continents and life experience, I joined a highly regarded General Practice here in Appletree Medical Centre. I enjoy seeing clients of all ages from babies to senior citizens, meeting people from all walks of life, and dealing with a full range of medical problems from minor to life threatening.

Dr Ida Soo
I graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. I then followed this up with a Master of Medicine. I have extensive experience in all aspects of general practice, from pregnancy through to geriatrics. For me, the most rewarding aspect of general practice is the ability to provide a continuity of care through multiple generations of the one family.
